Common Sense Conversations: Understanding Casual Conversation using a Common Sense Database
نویسنده
چکیده
We introduce a method for situation understanding from natural, face-to-face conversation. Our method combines a network of commonsense knowledge with keyword spotting and contextual information automatically obtained from a wearable device such as a PDA or cell phone. Using this method we demonstrate the potential for high accuracy, detailed classification of conversation topic.

Capturing Chat: Annotation and Tools for Multiparty Casual Conversation
Casual multiparty conversation is an understudied but very common genre of spoken interaction, whose analysis presents a number of challenges in terms of data scarcity and annotation. We describe the annotation process used on the d64 and DANS multimodal corpora of multiparty casual talk, which have been manually segmented, transcribed, annotated for laughter and disfluencies, and aligned using...
متن کاملSpeaker change detection in casual conversations using excitation source features
In this paper we propose a method for speaker change detection using features of excitation source of the speech production mechanism. The method uses neural network models to capture the speaker-specific information from a signal that represents predominantly the excitation source. The focus in this paper is on speaker change detection in casual telephone conversations, in which short (<5 s) s...
متن کاملA Neural Conversational Model
Conversational modeling is an important task in natural language understanding and machine intelligence. Although previous approaches exist, they are often restricted to specific domains (e.g., booking an airline ticket) and require handcrafted rules. In this paper, we present a simple approach for this task which uses the recently proposed sequence to sequence framework. Our model converses by...

متن کاملMapping Conversation Patterns in the Asynchronous Classroom
Distance education via asynchronous learning networks (ALNs) is an increasingly common method of educational delivery. To add to a practical and academic understanding of asynchronous, computer-mediated communication this article reports a conversation analysis study to „map the ground‟ of ALNs by identifying and describing conversation practices of ALN students in terms of conversation analyti...
